The promise and its limits
What is said in your home stays in your home. Every Muslin House expert signs a binding confidentiality agreement before they start working with us. There is more than one exception, and we name them rather than hide them: the law requires every adult in India to speak up for a child's safety or for certain serious crimes, and a court or the police can always require an answer from any of us. The full list, including what we choose to do ourselves even when the law does not require it, is linked here. We will not pretend there is only one.
Induction and the signed agreement are in place before any salon expert visits a customer.
The exceptions
A child’s safety
Apprehension or knowledge that a child sexual offence has happened or is likely. This is a legal reporting duty under POCSO sections 19 and 21.
Specified serious offences
The defined list of serious offences under BNSS section 33. This is a legal reporting duty, limited to the offences covered by that provision.
A lawful demand for information
A court order, a lawful police demand in an investigation, or a regulator’s demand made under a legal power to compel information.
A serious, immediate danger to life
Company policy permits and supports speaking up about a serious, immediate danger to someone’s life outside the duties above. This is a company choice, not a separate general legal duty.
